Additional information

Here’s another episode that originated as the first half of a much longer scenario (originally entitled “Friendly Fire”, which is now the title of the next comic), and is thus a bit skimpier on the action. Hopefully it’ll be enough to carry you over to the next episode – which, again, hopefully, will be delivered in more of a timely fashion. Sorry for my overall absence as of late – working hard to get to a point when I’ll have a bit more time for the site and hanging about. Much love to everyone still on-board and kudos for your patience!

Not sure which I like more here, the comic or the Codex. I’ll settle for a tie!

I really wish you could have gotten Emily Wong as the “war correspondent” instead of them creating Allers. Instead we just get a brief message that they decided to kill Emily off. Please Koobs save her.

    But… But… Continuity… ;)

Yeah, I miss Emily. She was a surprisingly memorable character. Double so when compared to Allers.

Woke up to find Marauder Shield’s Day had occurred. YAY! I think Vega’s one of the more unappreciated characters in the trilogy, so thanks for giving him some time in the spotlight.

Was looking forward to this episode and it didn’t disappoint! Good job!

Also that codex entry made me laugh quite a bit.

Wonderful episode once again Koobs, keep up the fantastic work! I thought showing the intelligent, eloquent batarian at the poker game (nice touch adding Mr Donnely and Ms Daniels) is a great way of showing the effect of the collapse of their Hegemony. The great minds hidden behind a wall of paranoia and hate. Absolutely loved the Codex, you nailed Bailey’s tone and cadence, bravo! I have to admit, although a may not have hated Allers as a character as much as what she represented from Bioware, I would quite like to see that penultimate paragraph in action. Possibly as a gif. Once again, great work, I look forward to the next episode.

nailed all of the portrayed characters’ tones & behaviors, great job, and definitely worth the wait. I figure I know who the crashed Hanar is – there is only one who can save the galaxy! xD xD I wondered when he’d make his first appearance in MS ^^ :P

Very enjoyable episode, the back-and-forth between everyones’ favorite Prothean and the pull-up champion was more than enough to carry me over; there was even some Chaos Theory to boot!

Is it MS canon that Allers was never aboard the Normandy or was thrown out the airlock (in low orbit of course)?

Ya gotta love Bailey, and I wish that you had a choice of bringing Wong or Al-Jilani. Yes, her, because while she certainly got on the players nerves, she did the one thing journalist are suppose to do, challenge the subject. That would have been a nice contrasts and perhaps a good way to bring forth some interesting points.

Interesting. Is the Hanar indoctrinated?
Maybe the next episode title “Friendly Fire” is a red herring, and the Hanar is protecting them from some Reaper forces sneaking up behind them!

Thanks for this new episode and also for bringing in chaos theory. Makes sense that, with cycles continuing for ever (the conflict between organic & synthetics being eternal), there is bound to be one cycle where something unforeseen happens, even if the probability is very low. Nice idea to have this concept put forward by a batarian playing cards.
BTW, not to diminish the originality of your work, but a similar idea was put forward by the visiting mathematician (Jeff Goldblum) in ‘Jurassic Parc’.

New awesome MS ep, whee! And it has Javik, and some nice banter, too :) I’ve been waiting for their part of the story to continue.
I remember running with two of them often on one of my late chars (mostly because class synergy, but also since they were the least known companions), and that kind of banter is something i always miss the most after the game is finished… well, pretty much, any game, not only ME. So good to know there are fan artists out there who are able to make characters believable enough for it to feel almost like the favorite story is not yet ended :)
And ofc Koobs is within the most skilled ones. ^^
Waiting for the next episode, no matter how long it takes.

Well done. And the codex was brilliant as well.

Great character interactions

Again, it seems Koobs and I are on the same mental wavelength. After all, if we take the earliest date for the start of the Cycle (1 billion years, according to the Codex info on the Leviathan of Dis) then statistically it would be impossible to sustain the cycle, with no significant changes for over such a long time. It just doesn’t add up: 200 permutations in a million years give or take a few thousand year variance between cycles means that Reapers have done this over 200,000 (if the math doesn’t fail me), plenty of time for some major screw ups to the plan, right?

Another great episode. I especially like the well spoken Batarian there.

Wohoo it´s MS Day again! :)

Ah, that Kodex entry … you know, the Day they finally lowered the EMS for the best ending was one of my happiest ME 3 parts, because I could finally tell her TOO GOD DAMN STAY AWAY FROM MY SHIP! :D

Double A

2013-11-25 06:45:35

I finally beat ME3 yesterday, after a like 6 month hiatus between Omega and Citadel (the last thing I had to do before Cronos (it was wonderful)) because I was dreading the ending. I was right to fear. I was so pissed with my choice between genocide of the Geth, deus ex machina, and space magic, I just shot the little shit right then and there. I went back later and did the control ending, if only to actually resolve things.

My friend pointed me here, and all of my /feels/ were perfectly captured in one post on DA by Koob. Or someone else. I dunno. Can’t find it. It was like, all these characters are your friends and you care about them, and ME is a very emotional game – unlike most sci fi – and the ending isn’t emotional, just dumb. ANYWAY. MS captures the spirit of ME3 perfectly before all the stupid shit happened, and I am honestly considering it canon.

You’re doing a hell of a thing. Keep up the good work.
